because that is the way that they have been trained so to speak. If you're not christian then you are wrong. And if you dont believe in their God then you are going to hell. I dont understand it

I think that it's not fair to generalize Christians into one big, negative category. Not all Christians are the same, and there's no way that one person could have met all the Christians in the world, therefore it is extremely close-minded to make comments as such. True, there may be some close-minded Christians in this world that find it hard to accept other religions; but the same goes to every religion, every race, and everyone. The fact is, we all have some type of prejudice in us, that's just the way human nature is, and by that comment, you have prejudice in you as well. But before asking a question like this, take it into account that not all Christians are the same, not all Jews or Muslims or members of any religion are the same. Being agnostic myself, I can't say that I stand up for any given religion. But what I can rightfully say, is that I stand against generalizations and prejudice.
In direct response to your question, who knows? There are probably many open-minded Christians who accept other religions; yet it has been known in history that the exact opposite is in Christian nature. This would account for the crusades and such....But that question really isn't something one person can answer; it's all in your own opinion.

I'm a Christian and I fully accept that not everyone will share my views.....please don't generalize. Not all Christians are shut off from the world, judgemental, and closed-minded. There are many of us who are quite accepting and open-minded. I like to learn about many different religions and find many of them have valid points that I encorporate into my spiritual life. I just happen to follow Jesus's teachings the most.

Not everyone is like that.....i'm not really sure on what religion I am...i do follow the ten commandments, but I don't read the bible that much, I don't really understand it...but anyways....not all Christians are like that and there's a lot of people who believe that they're religion is the right religion, muslims, jews, not just Christians...you might as well ask....'why do you think you're the only one who can be right about your religion?' You assuming that all Christians are like that is ignorance in your fault just as well as the ones who believe there religion is the right one...its funny when someone accuses someone else of something when they're just as guilty....

Hmmm...go to the Middle East and see how accepting they are of Christianity. All religions tolerate other religions, but of course, they all believe they have the right one.
The problem with Christianity as it stands today is that it is just another religion. The Pharisees in Jesus' day were religious and they were the ones who crucified Him. Jesus wants a personal relationship with you, not your outward expression for one hour on a Sunday morning.
If the majority of people would just read the Bible and not judge Christ based on man's actions they'd see a HUGE difference. He is the Word that became flesh and died for the sins of all mankind. He loves all of us, but He will not force Himself upon us. He's given us the free will to choose.
If you seek Him with all your heart and soul, you will find Him, the Truth, the Way, the Life. He died and rose again. Jesus defeated death. Anything outside of Jesus is a lie and to accept otherwise is to call God a liar. It is written. It is so. Not too far off from today, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and King!

It is unfortunate that certain Christians, a lot of Christians, and a lot of Churches for that matter, are like that because it is really NOT very Christian. As Christians, we are not supposed to judge, and "Christians" should know that. Christ drew people to himself with love and acceptance and mercy and grace. I am a Christian, and there are many others that I know (even if it seems to non-Christians that most Christians are more hard-core judgementalists) who try to reach people the way Christ did, by building relationships out of love and community. And hopefully, by God's guidance, that view that you and many others hold about Christians can and will be changed.

I was baptized Protestant but I no longer consider myself a Christian. I have no problem accepting that not everyone shares my beliefs on religion. Who am I to think I'm right? I think it's really ignorant of people to think that their religious beliefs could be the only possibility. But Christians aren't the only ones who do that. There are people from all religions who think that their religion is the "right" one.

BuffyFan,
This is my guess. When you accept the Nicene Creed(you are saved by the blood sacrifice of a perfect person, Jesus), you are number one, grateful that He died for you, and second, filled with the desire to share this with others, so that they too may be saved. The saving others part comes from the belief that God will really like it if you help save more of His children. Also, getting others to accept your beliefs reinforces the idea that you made the right choice, and makes it more true. Not everyone who falls under the blanket of "Chirstianity" operates or believes this way.

As an ex-Christian and speaking from experience, they get all caught up in the christian experience, they feel full of spirit and need to share it with everyone. It's kind of like being in love, ever had that feeling where you have to tell everyone about your new love? How they make you feel? It's actually the same part of the brain at work.
Also, there book tells them it's their responsibility to share it with others. They can lose their own salvation if they don't tell others. Weird huh?

This is because as Christians, we are obliged to tell you about Christianity. We are obliged to show you the truth, to God's way. Perhaps it is not us Christians that find it hard to accept, but rather it may be you who find it hard to accept Christian's view on religion?

we should understand.
a lot of people are just blinded by their foolishness. but the truth does hurt.
i truly understand that everyone has & will share different views on religion . there's so many different kinds/types.
but remember: jesus is the way, the truth & the life/light. john 14:6
there's only 1 holy bible. not a man made bible.
if u read the holy bible, the truth is all there.
we are no one to judge others. only god can do that.
but we know the truth, we're trying to save as many souls from going to hell.
but to live forever in heaven, to have eternal life.
not to burn in a firey pit in hell forever.
