Of the twelve, only Peter had a glimpse of the reality. Matthew was looking for the 'Son of David', to throw out the Romans. Mark was looking for the 'Servant of God'. Luke was the one expecting the 'Son of Man'. And John learned later of the 'Son of God'.

Although each had a desire for the messiah, none realized what would happen on Calvary. That revelation was sealed, until the resurrection.

I say Christ IS the Resurrection. And the only way out of this world alive, is by the Resurrection. Would it be going to far to say, "If you don't make it out alive, you're doomed?"

This is a very good question, since there are many religions in Christendom that teach about Jesus as GOD incarnate in the flesh. The truth is Jesus was the 1st born Son of God, whose name is Jehovah! You can read it in God's word, the Bible at John 17:3 "This means everalsting life, thier taking in knowledge of you,the only true God, and the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ" Jesus sets the best example of how to live and how to treat others(John 13:34) The Bible foretold of the one whom God would send as the Messiah, or Christ.(Matthew 16:13-17 Jesus went on asking his disciples: "who are you men saying the Son of Man is?" 14 They said: " Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets". 15 He said to them: " You, though, who do you say I am?" 16 In answer Simon Peter said: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God".
Read the Profecies of Micah 5:2, which says the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem, in Judah.
Matthew 2:1 confirms that!
Daniel 9:25 points the the very year when the messiah was to appear, in 29CE.
Matthew 3:16 After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water;and, Look! the Heavens were opened up, and he(John the Baptizer)saw descending like a dove Gods spirit coming upon him. 17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the Heavens that said:"This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.
He is called "the firstborn of creation"
John 3:16 He is the "Only begotten Son".
There is so much more to this but you have to read the word of God daily to gain the wisdom and knowledge that is written just for you!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.The firstborn of all creation. He offered his perfect human life as a ransom sacrifice to free mankind from enslavement to sin and death. It is only by exercising faith in that ransom that we can have the hope of everlasting life.Christ now rules in Heaven as King of God's heavenly Kingdom. And will lead the charge at Jehovahs great and fear inspiring day of Armageddon.

Jesus was a man and son of God.
At some point God said, "I am who I am, I am".
So through Jesus and his teaching, people would understand that God would be with us always, everwhere. Right here in the physical world.
