I am not sure if there is a specific nutrient, but I'd have to say it would be calcium / protein.

If you are looking to prepare your joints, you might want to look into glucosamine / chondroitin as a supplement. There's still some research that needs to be done on whether it works, but a lot of people swear by it. I take it daily as a bit of preventive medicine. It takes a few months before it works.

Do some research on it first to see if its right for you.
