I could argue this point to the death. Coming from a rural town, I used to drive by huge white signs in farm fields stating: "The baby's choice: Life". I feel that the answer depends on your values, religion and morals. In my opinion, being a woman may bias this, but I feel that the moment the egg is fertilized the 'thing' becomes a living organism. I have not had much exposure to abortion, but when I hear of abortion it does anger me. Especially in the case when a woman uses it as a method of birth control (trust me, there are many women that do do this). I guess you have to consider what it means to be human. If you think of being a human in the social sense, I guess ‘it’ would not be human until it comes into this world and is socially accepted as a human. It is hard to say if that 'thing' inside a woman for nine months is a human, or if 'it' has a mind. It obviously has a body and a brain, but can it think, feel, etc? Legally, in some countries, it is acceptable to have an abortion at a certain point in the pregnancy and illegal after a certain point, so a scientific answer might be that the self develops at a certain cycle and that prior to this point in a woman’s’ pregnancy cycle, ‘it’ is simply an it. I don’t have the evidence to back it up either way, I have my personal values. I feel that any woman, whatever her race, ethnicity, age, etc, may at some point in her life have to make the decision of abortion, but I feel that is must be a collective one, and that if for some reason she decides pro abortion, it must be for the sake and reasoning of the potential human being. In any case, be smart, practice safe sex

From the moment of conception. Like everyone else is saying. Once it starts growing. It may not look like a human at first to many people but it should be accepted that thats just one form that a human takes in its lifetime. It doesnt matter if there aren't opposable thumbs yet, its a growing human form.

I would say from conception. When I was only 6 weeks pregnant we had a sonogram to be sure everything was ok because of some past medical problems, and we could see the pulsating of a little heart beat at that time. It's definately a living being at that moment. Quite amazing!!!

From conception. That is before the fetus joins to the uterus wall. It's a magical moment with fireworks and dancing hamsters.

It depends on who decides. For many Christians its at conception. For docs when its viable outside the womb. For other its magically becomes human after first trimester.
