Most of the people in the section think that they know the answers to everything and that they have the right to impose their views on others. They can just be downright rude and insulting when they do not agree with other people's opinions. Not to mention, a lot of them are just the most racist and narrowminded people out there. But don't worry, I'll live.

Sadly enough, many people of various faiths have 'god complexes' and live for trashing and bashing other people. It makes them feel important. I'm sad to think of what will happen to them, because most of them are blatantly disobeying the reliogions they so bitterly defend with their hatred and judgemental speech and attitudes. :(

I agree to some extent, however you're going to get some flak for posting this question!

It's probably not 99% but I honestly can't believe the judgmental answers I've seen from people who say they're Christians. Not all Christians are bad. Heck, my parents and most of my family members are Christians.

But Christianity, does promote narrow-mindedness. It's not an insult, it's the truth. Just like Eve and the apple of knowledge, Christians are told not to question their faith. Not seeking out alternate answers can lead to people not thinking independently or taking the time to challenge ideas that might jeopardize their faith. They simply repeat what others say (church, elders, bible, etc.)

Don't let it get you down, everyone has an opinion about everything and religion sparks! I find this section the best for my interests, but I'm seeing it more for the humour thing. I do enjoy reading the serious answers that rebut the opposing views, some have been compelling on both sides of the fence. Top notch!

This sounds like more of a rant than anything. But to some degree, I totally understand and see your point. Being gay and living in the bible belt of the South, what you speak of surrounds me. Basically, if you are not southern, white, and some form of christian, you are an immoral outcast and gawked at. There is so much biggotry down here, compared to when I lived in central NY. Don't get me wrong, biggotry is everywhere in the U.S., but it's even worse down here in the South where I live. I see and experience it first-hand far too often. The stereotype is honestly not far off! I wasn't raised by or around people that tolerated this type of behavior, so seeing it as common in the South is down right scary to me. I've never heard the "N" word, "F*G", and "...going to hell" so much until moving to the South. Heck, my best-friend was born and raised in the south and comes from a pretty religeous Christian family. Even she sees and realizes how close-minded and hateful southerners generally are, after having gone to college in NY. For such religious poeple, damn they are hateful and ignorant! It's so abundant and common in the area I live in. It's part of their normal vocabulary, and even scarier, is typical, normal, and acceptible down here. Not ALL christians, specifically southern christians, are hypocritical, biggoted, and arrogant. But it's SO common! Quite frankly, I'm sick of the arrogant, know-it-all attitudes I come across who make reference to the bible and the "truth", as they know it. Close-mindedness keeps people ignorant. This was a reality check...and I'm through.

Well, I hope I'm one of the ones in the 1%. I don't consider myself to be prejudicial in any way, shape or form. My beliefs are my beliefs. I will share with anyone who's interested or wants to listen. I do not think my beliefs are "right", only "right for me". Quite frankly, I usually avoid the questions that are biased and looking to insight some trouble.

Because most of the people on here are defending their own religion. See, if any of their beliefs are challanged, they can't handle it. What if their fantasies about God and Heaven were shattered? They wouldn't know how to get through the day.

Ludd, I was thinking the same thing. And, as far as I know, we're 100% nobodies on here. So who's being egotistical?
