A good starting point would be to go back to school. Enroll in college and take a couple of classes. Start with a Child Develop class and follow up with a class for Class room environments.

Don't open a school because you "wish" to, investigate the needs of your community first. Know that you're qualified to handle the different developmental stages of four year olds. You may also want to take a class in business managment.

Go in prepared for the long haul. The quickest to to bring your business to a halt is starting unprepared. I might add, try visiting and spending time at some of your local already established preschool settings. Most invite public observation. Be respectful of their times and availabities. Call ahead for appointments.

Good Luck.

Dear Cat Leo,

Check the laws of your state - most states have different licensing and other requirements. Also, look at federal labor laws.
