Well lets see - ever hear the saying "curiosity killed the cat"?
Or - he is looking for another putty cat -
Or - perhaps watching for a tweety bird to mosey along
If he doesn't stop and stare he might miss out on a mouse!
Even human "cats" stop and stare - ever think about that????

I'm not a cat person - I prefer dogs. But my cat is 2.5 and she ALWAYS does this. I think cats are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. Maybe they're secretly plotting to take over the world. You are being spied on...

They are just checking you out to see if
they are safe around you. This is a cat's
nature. You see them everyday because
there are a lot of cats around your area.
They mean you no harm, they just want to
be sure you are not going to harm them.

They stare because they want to see who you are....or sometimes they might be trying to tell u to "get away" or "to leave their personal space". Dont try to stare down the cat either- they'll bite or scratch you.

They probably dont know if you are intimidateing or not. Also cats are very territorial so maybe they think you are invadeing their space. I would just stare back LOL

if it's a black cat then there's sumthin your doing wrong. if your a chriten then pray and just ask god why am i always seeing cats? maybe a good sign like when you grow up your going 2 b a verternan so yeah gd luk!

cats are very curious animals. maybe they think you look interesting and want to just watch you. maybe they are wondering what you are doing and if it might affect them. anytime i bring anything home my cats have to thoroughly examine and inspect it no matter what it is as if to say before you bring that in OUR home we need to approve it. either that or they want to see what i bought for them. Very nosey little creatures, but sooo cute!

Cats are very curious and aware of their surroundings. They want to see if you're dangerous or if you are doing anything interesting.
