4 miles to work, 4 miles back. I've lworked in cities with awful commutes including Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Philadelphia ... and (drum roll) Los Angeles. When I moved here, I decided that I was tired of commuting. So I live in a 1927 bungalow in a part of town that is undergong urban renewal. The best part is that I live a mere 4 miles away.
Did I mention that it only takes me 10 minutes to get to work and that I never get on the freeway?

I used to drive 62 miles one-way every day. Now its just 6 miles each way. Woo hoo! No traffic jams for me. By the time I get there the car is barely warmed up.

My commute is 24 miles each way. I only have to do it 2 day each week because I work 24 hour shifts each time. Also, I don't have to deal with traffic because I get up at 0400 and leave for work no later than 0500.

30 round trip and it sucks I had to drive just about 2 mi for the past 6 years

NONE...I work at home as an artist. So I don't need to drive to work. Just to get supplies.
My partner drives 35miles each way.
