You got that wrong-no one said we didn't like favor. We are a nation of many-but many didn't bring the rest of the stuff with it--they wanted to blend and add-not be separate.
Why don't we talk-Italian or Polish or French or German or whatever-the people wanted unity.
Face it!

Clark R insulted a pasty...is that pastyism?......The UK diet is one of the finest in the world. Why,where else in the world could you scoop so many different foods off the pavement at 2 am on a saturday morning?....I've eaten the lot...from indian, chinese, mexican, italian, kebabs, and my own personal favourite(which there seems to be loads of) carrot, tomato and wine soup...dunno what it's called but I lap it up...why are you holding a handkerchief to your nose?

Somewhat ya. But England brought in Indian recipes and Britishized Indian foods long again when India was part of the empire.
Fish and all that is traditionally british is still good. They still have brought food and ideas over. Its not just people coming in but British going out and coming back.
Man I miss pub food.

no, because nobody in uk really eats what was once traditional food anymore, that in itself has become dull, its not all fish and bloody chips.
hotpot and stew, now thats real food, a bit of haggis and black pudding too, delicious. Bangers and mash, spotted dick, rock n roll. Its good healthy food.
We should be the ones setting up restraunts in Italy and France.

Very dull I think, nothing better than a good curry or Italian. Love everything else you mentioned, also Chinese, Malaysian, decent Kebabs, Lebanese etc.

The best food I ate when I was in the UK was Indian, and the native stuff would never be my first choice (what were those gross little cold meat pies called, pasties? They looked so delicious until I bit into one, what a nasty surprise. . .) So, it would not only be dull, but downright unappetizing.

Until the ban on Toothbrush immigration is lifted, eating out in the UK will remain dull...

Funnily enough, my theory is that if the UK hadn't been at war with France/Spain etc so many times, therefore building a dislike of "foreign" foods like garlic, sauces, etc the food would be more exciting.

Certainly would be dull! Even our British fish and chips are an import from France.
