Lets put it this way. I have an 84 toyota camry as my 95 transam was TOOO much in gas. The car has power EVERYTHING and is so cheap on gas. As old as this car is it acts like brand new. NEVER been in the shop. I bought this car for 300 and have offers of 700 and if I sold it I would get an easy 1,000 for it and I would just end up buying another toyota. Hondas I feel are fluff cars for kids who like to play dress up. They put red steering wheel on and red matts and then get red rims etc.
My friiend has a 93 honda and my car 84 camry flies up hills whereas hers is SO slow, seniors pass her.( She is trying to get rid of it as we speak because she thinks the engines going.)
Toyota = Reliablility
cost effiecient
a car that keeps its value
When you own a toyota people go oooooohhhhh. Its reputation speaks for itself.

I currently own a 2006 Toyota RAV 4, which I love for the most part. I have had some various issues, but nothing serious. I HATE Toyota's customer service.
I owned a Honda Accord before the RAV4, never had anything mechanical go wrong with it other than regular maintenance type things. I also hated Honda's customer service, but it was way better than Toyotas.
Both Toyotas and Hondas are very reliable.

I've owned and driven both makes, and it's probably a toss-up, depending a lot on the model of car you're looking at. Both manufacturers make extremely dependable products, have extensive service reliability, and die-hard folks committed to the brand. In my recent car-purchasing experience of a new economy car, I found the Toyota dealers much easier to deal with and I got a much better deal on a Toyota than I could on a Honda. The attitude of Honda in marking up the price way above sticker of their new compact car was "We will because we can!!!" whereas, Toyota dealers, apparently on orders from Toyota corporate, were committed to selling theirs at MSRP. So, I am a Toyota convert, for price and customer service reasons.

They are both good. But if you go by the number of recalls. Honda would be better. Toyota makes good trucks. So if your looking for a truck, Toyota is your best bet.

I once had a Toyota Corolla and I liked it ok but now I have 2 Hondas... a Civic and an Accord and I love them both. If you take care of them Hondas will last a long, long time.

Honda use to hold the no. 1 car slot for many years. Toyota knocked them down to no. 2 slot and took over the no. 1 slot for about the past 8 yrs.
This happened when Mr. Honda died and his son, who use to only run Acura, took over both companies. Since then Honda is still good but not as good as they once were.
That alone answers the question :)

I had a Toyota Camry and put 250k miles on without doing anything but routine work and a new clutch. I can't wait to have another Toyota. Since that time I've had both a Mazda and a Ford and hate them in comparison. My parents and my ex all buy Toyotas and that's all I will buy from now on, too!

I have been buying Honda and Acura for a while and I'm happy with both brands. The new Honda minivan is a marvelous machine!

Tough one, but I'd go with Honda.
My aunts Honda is 15 years old. It's got tons of miles on it, but still looks new and drives great. She's only had to do the normal wear and tear repairs, nothing major.
