yesterday, i got a lot of water in my ear and it won't come out.
i went to the doctor today, but she said it will come out on it's own.
on the average, how long would it take?

If you're really concerned about this, you can take a few drops of rubbing alcohol and put them in your ear. It will help dry out the ear canal. Leaving your ears wet is never a good idea, because they become a breeding ground for bacteria and can cause infection. The water should be gone within a couple of days at most. It is a good idea to put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in your ears after swimming or spending a lot of time in the bath or shower, anytime your ears get wet. :)

A few days. I used to get it all the time. You can always use Swimmer's Ear or just plain rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball to plug the ear. The alcohol dries up the extra water in the ear canal.

Try sleeping on the side with the plugged ear.

Try sleeping on the plugged side and it could release during the night - I've had that work for me.
