I believe this is a classic question posed by many people in the behavior profession, Nature or Nurture.
Which means what has the greater influence on a child it's enviroment, or the parents.
I believe they are equal in their influences on a child, and depending on the personality, intelligence of the child which one will win out, if their is such thing as one winning out over the other.
I believe you will do this because that is the way you were taught as a child by your parents, and I believe you will do that because that is the way the enviroment has taught you to do.
The final decision of what you will be is up to you, if you chose to be a failure then you will be a failure, if you chose to be a winner then you will be a winner. It is all up to you.

None of it. Once you're an adult, its your own personal responsibility to either let the emotional baggage ruin the rest of your life or put it all in the past and do something good with your life.
