Sonta won't last long. No Hyundai lasts long. Their resale value is bottom of the barrel as well.
2 adults, 3 kids and one in a seat. Any car is going to seem crammed, uncomfortable and lacking room.
Any car you get to hold all of this will be lucky to average 20 miles per gallon. You are better off just to get a mini van. Twice the room yet same gas mileage.
Toyota Sienna is a good one. Million Dodge Caravan's out there. Honda Odyssey is another good one.
SUV's like a Trailblazer would hold you all also but would get little bit worse on gas and you would lose about 1/8th the space.

If is has to be between these two, I would pick the Sonata. The Marquis has a V-8 and wont get half the mpg of the Sonata. However with three boys in the back a van or a suv with a third row bench would be more comfortable

I got a new Sonata. While it is pretty much the best car for the low price, I was REALLY disappointed in the poor mileage, about 19 mpg. The guy at the dealership who also bought one told me he had the same mileage as me.

First, are you limiting yourself to Hyundai? Second, as the years pass, the need for space in the car will be even greater, especially with boys. My recommendation is to look further for a larger vehicle.
