help, my windows task manager for windows xp professional has become disabled. i cant get into it any way.?

i am running a compaq presario sr1650nx, with media center edition 2005 with upgrades.

Have you tried ctrl-alt-del?
If that doesn't work (I'll bet you've tried it), go to the C drive and open it. Then open the folder called WINDOWS. It will say something about the nature of the contents of the folder. Proceed anyway. Then scroll until you see an icon called TASKMAN. This is your task manager. Double-click on it and it should open.
