Belief is belief is belief.
You can't open someone's head and pour in your beliefs.

"why do you refuse to have Jesus Christ in your heart?"

A: Because I cannot see how anyone can believe that "he" existed. The human mind is an incredible thing. We are a mammal species. We are on this earth to live, reproduce, and die. That is it. Mankind created this, this belief in something greater, a higher power, something divine to give purpose to his life. That's what it is. A made up belief. A single man, so long ago, decided that he was sick of living for the purpose of dying, so he thought up something better. He thought up a better ending. That's all it is. An alternate ending that will never happen.

It absolutely amazes me that so many people today have been infected with some sort of insidious mental virus that leads them to the insane certainty that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a bunch of ignorant wandering Bronze Age goat herders represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' about fundamental matters of existence and reality. Talking snake and donkeys... 'terrarium' universe... walking on water... burning bushes... parting the see... staffs turning into snakes... humans created from dust and rib... eating your god in the form of a cracker. In a sane world, if there was somebody running around spouting this crap, he would be locked up in the State Farm for the Funny. Apparently, though, mass insanity seems to convey some sort of free pass.

Lets say that Jesus did exist and what the bible states is true. If I am a good person and live an okay life, but I am a little sketchy on the whole god thing would I be punished, or sent of to eternal damnation. For not putting my faith in god.....

I think the answer is very simple.

We are not able to in our own capacity. It is the Holy Spirit job to convict the human heart to confession. All proclamation that Jesus is Lord and Savior is the work of the Holy Spirit.

We are Saved because God loved us totally, died for us totally and Saves us totally. So that no man boast. To the praise and Glory of God forever and ever, Amen.

i can tell you why its not because we are sinful or evil or something monsterous

its because christians hate thier own kind.

its bad enough you attack athiests Buddhists Hindus gays blacks women animals Muslims and Pagans but other christians?
Ive heard christians attacking other christians as not a true christian for far too long to give up my experience and my intuition for blind faith. youre a pack of wild bears that love to tear each other apart and down. Oh and i dont forget this passage as most christians like to forget it you shall know them by thier fruits. Most christians say never mind the people turn to Jesus instead well isnt that a contradiction because the bible says you shall know them by thier fruits and id rather be keen on what i know not what i think i know. thats why im not christian its a repulsive religion/relationshiop and ill have no part in it.

Well, I'm Jewish, so I do not consider Jesus my savior, nor the son of god.

Why don't you believe in Odin, Zeus, or Ra? They love you, they want you to cherish them in your heart and they're not fairy tales either, as far as I'm concerned (hypothetically). Why don't you give up Christianity and embrace them and their rituals?
*
It is a annoying and arousing antagonism, is it? So stop forcing me your beliefs and I will not force you mine

Oh, and by the way: what you just said about us going to hell for our comments- that was very unchristian of you. What would Jesus say?

Hi San. Hope you do not misunderstand my answer. I do not see why we need to have one specific god in our hearts but why not the intangible idea of God itself. There's Christ, Allah, Buddha, several Hindu Deities, which one do you assimilate into your system when each religious leader himself says, "I am the lord thy god, thou shalt not worship anybody else." This confusion has which got misinterpreted has caused enough violence and pain already. I detest religious talk for the same reason. It is futile. When I asked a preacher whether it is enough to be good and do good, he said no. I HAD to conform to some religious body and ONE god. Isn't that stupid? Yes, I am an atheist and I do believe that doing good is enough.

Simply, I am a witch and as your bible so wonderfully puts it in Exodus 22:18 "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live," so basically I refuse to buy into a religion that can go so blindly against other's free will and tries to convert the masses into something that they don't believe in. And the bible is a giant story that has been tweaked over the years, as recently as the 1800's to be exact.

You can't always blame the person. First, If they have rejected so...many times that their heart is hardened...then the Holy Spirit will not 'call' them. Second, The Holy Spirit is not always 'calling' someone. Third, we are not all children of God....you become a child of God with salvation and obedience. There are , unfortunately, children of satan.
