24hrs to the state line of straight driving and then what? I live about 150 miles se of Orlando and it takes me 7 hrs from Tallahassee but I have FL tags I wouldn't speed down here w/outa state plates and by all means wear your seat belt, they will stop you & ticket you.

I'm in Florida. So not very long at all in my case. In your case, I would need to know where you are driving from to give you a correct answer.

Texas is a very big state so your question needs to be narrowed down at least to the city nearest you. Also, you need to let us know where in Florida you are going. For instance, I live in Pensacola and if you're traveling from Houston it will take you 8-10 hours depending on how fast you're going to drive and how many stops you make. If you're going to Disney in Orlando you should add about 7-8 more hours to your travel time. This is all assuming you live in Houston. You could just look it up on Mapquest.com though and enter your information.

I'm not positive where in Texas you will be driving from and where in Florida you are headed, but I can tell you that from Austin, TX to Destin, FL (located on the Gulf of Mexico), it takes approxamately 14 hours (with rest stops). Otherwise, look on mapquest.com or try an online travel planner such as www.fodors.com or www.us.map24.com to plan the best route and find great attractions.

Depends on what part of Texas you are coming from as the state is only 750+ miles wide from El Paso to Orange. From Houston to Tampa it takes me 18 hours on a good day, 22 on a bad one.

We drive several times a year from Dallas to Fort Lauderdale. We have done it in about 21 - 22 hours straight drive but it is much nicer to spend one night somewhere. If your not going that far down into FL then it can easily be done in 1 long day. Have fun!

How long does it takes actually doesnt matter because whereever you are around the worlds whether you are driving, riding, surfing, flying the most important thing is not the time taken to another destination but SAFETY.SAFETY come first..in all desire destination.Whats the point reaching early but in the end problem crop up like accident etc..Lastly sleep & rest is important dun fall asleep in all aspect.

We drove FROM Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Carlsbad, NM, and it took 2 1/2 days (20 hrs of actual driving).

If you go to the following link: http://www.mapquest.com and put in your starting point and destination, it will give you a map that includes the mileage and hours it will take.
