My aunt (she passed away about 3 years ago) gave me her lime pickle recipe. It uses cucumbers, vinegar, sugar, etc. But I don't understand this part:
Slice cucumbers and cover with solutions of 2 cups lime, 2 gal water and sock for 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
Any ideas if this is a cotton sock, and what purpose does it have?

Thanks!

I can't believe I didn't figure that one out! She definitely spelled it "sock" but I can see that "soak" is what it's supposed to be.
Thanks everyone!

Yep; soak.

Unless you want your socks to come really clean!
