What kind of dog is it? What kind of chocolate was it? I heard the amount of chocolate that can kill a dog is one ounce per pound of dog - so if you dog weighs more than 6 pounds, I think he/she will be okay. You might want to call a vet just to be certain - but I am pretty sure he/she will not die from it. I've seen tons of dogs eat more chocolate than that. I wouldn't give it to my dog - but I think yours will be okay. It will give you more ease just to call. Don't listen to everyone saying your dog is going to die. That is so cruel people, you don't know the fate of his dog!!!!

It depends on the dog's size and weight, and also the purity of the chocolate. If you haven't already called the vet, you should do that right away. I wouldn't recommend inducing vomiting in your dog on your own, as you may do more harm than good. If you need to induce vomiting, using hyrdogen peroxide works well. I've had to use it on my dog when he was younger and ate washrags that could block his intestines.

My dog has eaten part of a chocolate bunny before too, and he's still eating everything in sight if he can get his mouth on it. Accidents happen, and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. I hope everything works out for the best for you and your pooch!

48 hours.
No it will not die for sure but it has an 90% chance it will
Give it a lot of water and keep a very close eye on it.
Your dogs heart rait will sky rocket and it will become hyper.
I have seen them calm back down, go out side and act normal and then WHAM! die on the spot.
It actually takes 24 hours for the poison to hit it's heart but, keep an eye on it an extra day.
The Vet will not be able to help with much other then the effects of the heart rait.
Throwing up can help but it is not a cure at all.

It's not good, but, she should be fine most likely. It raises their heart rate too much, some dogs die, some dont, some end up with complications. If it JUST ate chocolate, you can induce ur dog to throw it up. Water and salt, and throw it down ur dogs throat, and it will give it an upset stomach to throw it up, just a little bit of it salt n water. But, your best bet is the vet, they know exactly what to do to make sure ur dog won't be harmed.

It is pretty well known that chocolate is toxic to dogs. The LD50 (lethal dose to 50% of dogs) of pure baker's chocolate is 100-500 mg/kg. Again, the dose depends on how big your dog is (the bigger the dog, the more chocolate required to ingest a toxic dose). It should also be noted that your chocolate bunny is most likely made of a lower quality chocolate (e.g. milk chocolate) which will be several times less toxic than unsweetened baker's chocolate.

Nevertheless, you should consult your local veterinarian for further medical advice.

Chocolate is a toxin that builds up over time in the dog's body. It probably won't die the first time it eats it, but try to be more careful to keep your dog away from chocolate in the future. The more they eat over time, the more likely they will get sick and possibly die.

You are not a bad person. Obviously you know that chocolate is bad for your dog, and you care.

Call your vet.

You know three important things: When the chocolate was eaten, how much was eaten, what kind of chocolate was eaten. The weight of your dog is also important, in that it take more chocolate to poison a bigger, heavier dog.

Theobromine is toxic to dogs. It is not an allergy in the medical-scientific sense.

Our dog ate more than that once. The dog was fine. Keep your eye on your dog for the next day or two, if you notice any distress, go see a vet.
