Vocalization, although that covers a lot of noises they make. Don't you just wish we spoke German sometimes? Then we could have a big long compound word that means "normal domesticated cat vocalization that is not a growl or mating call"

I guess it would be a vocalization, because I don't really see a scientific word for it. I see reasons, but no scientific term.
