I heard of a saying which says : I hope that being better at one will make me better at the other.
if u r long in the military career, i have got something to say. Pretty heartless bad still i got to say it.
U are a military man!!!!! In a third world country there might be a big possibility that ppl will want to kill u but as a military man u are there for a reason so DON LET THEM!
IF u have not sign up to be one, its time u look for another job. I sincerely believed that ur wife will support ur decision.. Gd luck to u.

A lot of TRUST in your family, and a strong loving foundation before you leave. I recommend seeking couples counseling in addition to the many other things I am sure you need to do prior to departure. Good luck.
And to the liberal, peace nut up above - the only reason you can speak freely about such things is because of gentlemen such as the asker who were willing to fight the secure us those rights. Go preach your BS overseas and see how far it gets you. Most of us didn't join the military for the pay, it was for a chance to serve, and gain skills for life.

You don't. It's not responsible to try and "raise a family" when you are in the military, since there's a good chance you can get killed, and the military doesn't pay well at all.
Just get a real job, or don't have a family.
