Both nations have populations in excess of a billion and both have rapidly growing economies but will this mean both countries will continously live in peace? Also note that the states will still be around at this point far into the future but as the british empire fell so too will americas reign of the world. Will it just be between these two nations or will it involve other nations as well?

China will have a very hard time becoming a 'superpower' while their economy is based on 'cheap labour', and is strictly regulated by the state. With more and more Chinese workers being exposed to the 'free world', they will start demanding better wages, which in turn will lead to a slowdown in their economic growth. 'Superpowers' must have strong and flexible economies, which, the way China is operating at the moment, is not going to happen. The 'bubble' is going to burst, sooner than later.
India is another story, their growth is slower than China's, but they are building a better infrastructure to support their future growth. And they have a kind of 'democracy'.

Somehow I don't think India would agree to joining China in 'subjugating' the rest of humanity. Their 'loyalty' lies more with the West. (Economic and sporting ties. Who would they play cricket against?) Also, once they have 'subjugated the rest of the world, what's to stop China from 'subjugating' them?

Let us add further to the question. What if they lived in piece with each other but joined forces to take on the rest of humanity. To subjugate them. The brown and yellow people have been ruled, more or less, by the western world for a long time and suppose they decide to reverse that. After all, the West is selling technology and arms to anyone willing to pay for them.

That scenario is not unthinkable. Genghis Khan did it 800 years ago and Japan tried it 60 years ago, and almost succeeded. Perhaps another kick at the cat---

I am Indian and I really think they have no choice but to
keep peace if they want to conquer the world since their
economies depend on each other unlike other countries.
Heck maybe they will take revenge on the British. After
all if you were president of a country and some other country
ruled yours for 300 years killing innocent people and causing
them to be slaves would you not take revenge. India
and China will probably merge for all we know so America
will have no hope of getting to their feet since two great
economic powers can create the ultimate super power.

perhaps china has leaned to some extent live in peace. I am not sure about India filled of ethnic clashes and intolerance attitude towards neighbouring countries. For example anything bad happens to India Pakistan get blamed. India even doest hesitate to balme smaller countries like Sri Lanka, Banladesh or Nepal

China on the other is investing in future of many lands in Africa and so on

But yes, indian subcontinent getting together could be a super power

As of now, they are living in relative peace and relations between them are if not outright hostile, gradually improving...it comes from the fact that they both know that fighting each other will deviate them from their paths of progress while cooperation will at least be beneficial to one another.

Also, the world is changing so fast that fighting with each other will let other countries vie for their position in Asia (and world), which neither of them is willing to concede and basically the world is watching them and its purely up to them whether they want to command respect or go down in history as another examples of third world nations who despite having all resources at their disposal (most important their human resource) couldn't elevate themselves to the status of developed nation.

So why upset the applecart and face the danger of losing everything....

Very good question...

I think China will only become a problem for India if they find themselves in a shooting war with Pakistan as Pak and China have become close.
