Is he? Hhhmmm... maybe it's because Believers supposedly represent HIM??? And non's don't represent anyone but themselves and are willing to admit it openly, instead of trying to hide behind the religion or the God of that religion?

What makes you think God is punishing anyone?
Personally, I've always assumed that the words of Matthew 5:45 - "he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust" - were how I should view the world. God's not a monster.

once you receive Christ you don't belong to the world anymore. The spirit of God is a powerful force that all people recognize. Some love it, some hate it. So any reaction you get to being a christian is intense. Either intense hatred or intense love.
Why?
Because there is a war going on aside us. and around us. Remember that, when times are tough, it's a good thing. We want it to go well with us, but in reality we are faithing a war

In the long run it is the nonbelievers that will be punished. God doesn't punish believers, He chastises them. In other words He gives them a good spanking.

From Fight Club:
"Our fathers were our models for God. If our fathers bailed, what does that tell you about God?
Narrator:
No, no, no . . . I don't . . .
Tyler Durden:
Listen to me . . . you have to consider the possibility that God does not like you. He never wanted you. In all probability, he hates you."
Think about it. At least non-believers leave him alone. That is why he punishes beleivers. They are always asking for things. :-)
Seriously though, maybe he just does not like beleivers. They are very presumptious and arrogant for belieiving in something they can't see and he punishes them for being prideful.

The Bible gives the answer:
Because believers are part of God's family, and we can expect chastisement just like a loving Father disciplines his children, so also God disciplines His own.
However, it also says that if you be without chastisement then it is proof that you are bastards, (Illegitamate children of the world).

As far as I have heared since the unbelievers gotta goto hell anyway, they atleast get a free pass in this world, and the believers do get tested a lot, to see how patient, and thankful we are..
I am no preacher tho...so I might be wrong.

god dont punish no one we do that ourselves, because of what we know and received this determine where we are with god; if what you have received have not change, you to be what you should be then you are not where you should be with god. we can all say we believe in god and we can even say we are christian, but what comes from you determine if what you claim is true; if you make a claim such as this then you would have to hold to it one hundred percent. and if you continue to hold onto your human side then what you claim is false.

God isn't punishing us. He is testing our faith and is giving us TRIALS which are problems in our lives that we overcome. Trials help build our character and mold us into what God wants us to become. It is not punishment, he is just, making us better then we were.
