I recently paid off in full a $500 bill. After I paid it the credit agency said they were going to mail me a receipt and some paperwork saying they were going to delete it off my credit report. If they delete it off my report does that mean that for the future there will be nothing about this incident on it or will it still be on there just saying that it has been paid?

If you are dealing with a collection agency. When they say that they are going to delete it off of your report, that means it should no longer exist.

BUT - collection agency's haven't been known for telling the truth about deletions. I hope you have something in writing from them showing that they will delete after payment.

Keep after them if they don't. Also, dispute with the credit bureaus if it stays on there.

It will show the bill has been paid, the date it was paid, the date the account was opened, etc.

Yes, it will show that a debtor was paid and that's better than it being erased! Next time you pay something off, have them fax you a confirmation for your assurance.

It will show that it has been paid. If it was a collection account, it will still show it as that, but it will be statused as "Paid Collection" instead of "Collection."
