Jim posted a good routine but growing happens when your NOT in the gym. Workout hard then eat ...eat big! Every 3 hrs!!!

Aim for 2g of protein per pound of body weight per day..and 4-6g of Clean Carbs (Rice, Potato, Oatmeal) and lots of veggies per day.

Get plenty of sleep!!! You grow when you rest!

I'm also trying to gain muscle mass because I also skinny. I use free weights and machines at the gym and take a gram of protein per body pound daily spread over the day to keep up protein in your body so that your muscles always has protein to work with. Good technique is very important. The muscle mass that you gain should be hard. Some people do not work out the right way and their muscles do not turn out to look the way they should look. And I work out my whole body. Doing this I have had very good results and have put on muscle mass quickly.

Day 1
Barbell bench press
Incline dumbell bench press
Military press
Weighted dips

Day 2
Chins
Seated rows
Dumbell single handed rows
Curls

Day 3
Squats
Straight legged deadlifts
Calf raise
All 5 x 5 (5 sets of 5 repetitions)

Lift as heavy as you can, aim to add more weight each week, eat plenty, eat a source of protein throughout the day, add sources of unsaturated fats. Get plenty of sleep.
