Am I supposed to help them ween from the mom or does she do it on her own? They are eating solid foods just fine, but they still eat from mom. They are about 2 and a half months old now.

Gradually as they reach one month of age, the kittens are weaned and begin to eat solid food. Kittens live primarily on solid food after weaning but usually continue to suckle from time to time until separated from their mothers. Some mother cats will scatter their kittens as early as three months of age while others continue to look after them until they approach sexual maturity.

usually between 4-6 weeks old. Give them dry kibble, but make it a little moist with some warm water so they can get used to eating solid foods. usually canned kitten food is a little too strong for their stomaches and causes diarreah. Wit until feeding canned. Try not to feed canned food as it causes plaque and the dry is good for them as is cleans the teeth and is chews it.

They schould stop at about 3 months. But they may want to drink some a lil after but don't let them drink it all the time and switch to Kitten food.

Some will go as long as 12 weeks but the mom will know when to stop them and you will not have to intervene.
But please get your cat fixed for it will live a longer and healthier life. Besides shelter cats are dying because you are allowing your cat to have kittens.

If the mom gets tired of it, she'll smack them. Let the animals do their thing - it is natural and healthy to nurse for as long as they can. Don't interfere with the parenting of others - even cats. They know their kids' needs.
