Okay let’s say (for grins) that God gave Adam and Eve Belly buttons, they didn’t need them so…did they have them and if so why? Along that line if he gave belly buttons to them was he really thinking that far ahead? I know he is omnipotent but come on,that far ahead? I spent the day in the park playing baseball and I had to go home to get bug spray and sunscreen and I thought I had everything! So the Omnipotence of God and the belly button issue? Tell me…

Well, he tried, but since he made them out of dirt, the mud kept leaking out through the belly button, so he decided to make them solid.

Kind of a silly question.... who knows if they had belly buttons, but I know their offspring did...it's what sustains life in the womb. And how does God giving them belly buttons have anything to do with Him thinking ahead? He knew that when they had children how He would keep them alive in the womb.

Realistic answer: The story is just a fable... there is no historical accuracy to the whole of Genesis.

Fun answer: I would say he didn't. The bellybutton is basically a scar from the umbilical cord... since the story states that they were created and not born i would think they were without bellybuttons.

I'm an Anti-navelite.

Did Adam have a navel?
Well I don't think he did,
God created Man, he didn't make no little kid...

I don't think He did, but they put them in art because they look rather strange without them.
