If you take care of them maybe you should start looking for abuse signs (bruses, cuts) stuff like that. You should keep a log and write everything from the time she drops them to the time she takes them, Write any comments whe makes to them, Also if she spanks them, and write why. It is very important that you take pictures of bruses and anything that looks like they are being abused. Thank God you and your Grandparents are worried about them and looking after them. If you have proof like pictures Child Protective Services will step in. Good luck. don't forget the pictures. And also Love them love them very much:)

It sounds like some intervention is needed. Is the mom stressed? Where is the dad of the kids? If the kids are scared of her, it sounds like physical and emotion abuse to me. It is hard to raise kids especially if you are alone, but it is not fair to the kids. they deserve a good happy mom and life. Talk to your cousin if you are close, don't fight, see what her issues are, but if you are really afraid for the kids' sake, call the police or CYS. are there unusual bruises on the kids? Not in usual spots like legs and arms. I have spanked my kids after fair warning (repeated warnings) and had long discussions with them, but they are happy and healthy. I don't think being 6 and unable to fold a blanket justifies a spanking. MOST IMPORTANT--THE KIDS NEED HELP AND SO DOES YOUR COUSIN. DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO HELP!!

I think that the kid's mother need to go to a class for parents or sth like this. About the boy now, try all of you to calm him and make him not to be afraid of his mom. Try not to let the boy alone with the mother as more as you can. Of course talk to the mother too... and hope this won't happen again.

no i dont think it is rite what she did, because he dint do anything wrong i think that if hes that afraid of her then there must b a gud reason behind it. To b honest u would b doin the best thing in tellin the police about it then maybe sum1 in ur family like your mum could look after him until his mum works things out, its never a good thing to hit a child i dont think. Good luck in what ever you decide to do

I think you should call the police. If he's so afraid of her, that he won't eat his dinner. If just by looking at him, she terrifies him. Then, I say obviously something is going on and authorities need to get involved.
It's better to be safe than sorry.
Sometimes people don't get involved because they think it is none of their business but wouldn't you want someone to think you're worthy enough, loved enough to call? If you felt it was wrong, then it probably was. Don't hesitate.

Hell no! She needs help and NO ONE should ever lay a hand on their child no matter what, that doesn't teach them anything but to be afraid of them and thats no relationship for a mother and child the child is suppose to look up to her and trust her and know that she is there to protect him not hurt him!

I would report her for abuse as many times as I could. every mark on the child should be reported, they need to see proof.
If the kid is scared because his mom is LOOKING at him, something is WAY wrong. I would get that kid away from her.

Kids are not supposed to get hit. Kids should still belive in Santa, and Micky Mouse, and magic. Not Fear. I would warn her and check up on her.

No she shouldn't hit him, sounds like she could use some parenting classes, if she continues to abuse him turn her in.
