Nikon is not discontinuing the D50. This camera has only been out for one year and the sales figures are still through the roof.

Manufacturers often change their lineup and release better models. A reason why the D-50 may be replaced is to compete in the realm of the Canon Digital Reble XT or EOS 250D when you compare the old D-50 (6-megapixel) to the Canon (8-megapixel).

Because they have the same specs as the D-70!! They so much alike! cept for minor stuff!
