I was on the pill for about 7 years and in march I stopped taking them. Obviously my period was as regular as clockwork while I took the pill, but it was not the same since I stopped them. I have had 2 periods since, but it has been over seven weeks since the last one. I know it sometimes takes some time in this situation for them to regulate, but i cant help feeling a bit paranoid. I`ve taken two tests and they both showed negative. Cant understand this as I do have nausea, bloating, frequent urination and my breasts feel super sensitive. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd advise going to see your doctor about this as it is obviously worrying you. There is a possibility that you could be pregnant especially if you are not using any other form of contraception. The doctor may have a more reliable form of pregnancy test.

Good luck!

I was on the pill for many years before we decided to have our first child. I went off and IMMEDIATELY got pregnant. I was surprised as I thought it would stay in my system longer. The nausea, bloating and breasts super sore are definite signs of pregnancy. Maybe you should try the doctor and get a blood test instead of over the counter test? I thought those were pretty accurate though. Also, another sign is when you DO bleed while you are pregnant, it is a brownish/reddish color and that is normal --- it's more like "spotting."

I'm assuming you had sex to even consider the fact you might be pregnant. I would get a test done. but i was on the pill for over 7 years and when i came off it i must admit my body went through some strange feelings which were'nt unlike being pregnant. It does take a while for the body to return to normal, so if a test proves negative check with the doc to make sure this is just a normalreaction to coming off pill.

Sorry I'm violating the ladies only rule. It took my wife about a year to normalize after leaving the pill after about 10 years on. If you had difficult periods before, it's more likely they will be difficult now.

Keep up with the tests until you are sure, and remember that if you think it MIGHT be a line - it's a line.

It's amazing what the mind can do to the body. Best advise, like everyone has said..go to the doctor. But, your mind can play alot of tricks on your body..even causing you to have phsyical symptoms. People convince themselves all the time that there are issues that aren't even there. Look at people with anxiety...they can get themselves so worked up that they can actually convince themselves they are having a heart attack..and the symptoms will be there, eve when their heart and pulse rate are completely normal. The mind is a wonderous thing.

Being stressed out about maybe being pregnant can be just as stressful as being preggers itself. Thinking about it can actually bring on what is called "hysterical pregnancy" where you have symptoms but not pregnant. If I didn't get my period I would go to the doc b/c you might have something else wrong going on in there. It does take a while for your system to get over not being on the pill, anyway. This may be your body working itself out.

Well the could be false negatives, which means when you took the pregnancy test the pregnancy hormones weren't very strong as it was v.v. early in the pregnancy.

I'd do another pregnancy test - you can get them for detecting pregnancy in the first week of your missed period, really sensitve ones - if in UK go to boots or Superdrug cos thats where I got mine from unfortunately I can't remember the name of them.

If it comes up negative go and have a chat with your GP, they might offer you a blood test.

the longer you are on he pill for the longer it will take for your body to get back to normal. it took me nearly a year for mine to return, then i only had 1 before i fell pregnant, sometimes the pregnancy symptoms are apparent because you have changed what your body is used to with the pill and it is trying to remember what to do. give it a while and if you haven't had a period in the next week, go see you doctor and explain the problem to him/her. hope this helps love t

When your period is due you can experince the same symptoms as early pregnancy. However, 7 weeks seems like a long cycle. it oculd just be your body regulating after such a long time on the pill but to be sure I'd consult my doctor.
