Well I'm an intelligent person....wait...no, don't ask my wife or boss to verify that...take my word for it.
However, I would say I am less devoted to religious practices, however, I do believe in God (or a higher power if you prefer).
I personally think that religious practices are just a way of getting people who think the same together (a herd mentality). I also believe that a belief in a higher power (or God) would be better on a one-to-one basis.

Intelligence its something Universal, the practice of something will not make you, nor me, my self, not anyone else more intelligence a/o perfect nor truthful to God. Never- the-less, practicing religion, and maintaining a good religious practice, has never been wrong a/o negative to any one, less to God a/o any Intelligent being. intelligently we can devote our self's to one doctrine, with devotion to one believed in which case I believed he is God, whom?, the Lord God, divine, sublime and Omnipotent, God the Lord the Father, The Creator of heavens and earth, The creator of light and the creator of Life, of man and Woman> .

Why? Many of the most intelligent people and wise one are devoted to some kind of religion. That have nothing to do.
If you read a little, there are thousand of Christians, Jewish, Catholic, and Muslim University around the world.
Intelligence have nothing to do with religion.

No, but intelligent people are less likely to spend time time asking ridiculous questions in the religion section of Yahoo Questions.

No. I think there are intelligent people, and not-so-intelligent people, on both sides of the fence.
Intelligence isn't really the most important thing anyway. Being a good person is.

"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." I am intelligent. I am devoted. I am pagan, and I am proud. But, yes, I do think that we are less likely to be religious, because we are still in process of figuring out that there must be Divinity- We are all divine. And I figured that out for myself. (Spent seven years Atheist.)

I don't think so, but most will not just blindly follow faith. I consider myself reasonably intelligent and try to study something to better understand it. I think it has helped me become more spiritual, but now not so centered on any one religious practice

I would say that they could be spiritual. But to be devout to any religious beliefs of thousands of years past, to stick with their rituals and traditions, swallow all of their religious explainations, it's a real leap of faith in this day in age. You either have to have total ignorance or a huge deniabilty factor to believe a lot of that wholeheartedly.
and I happen to think this was a fantastic question.

Perhaps since curiosity about everything is a large component of intelligence, the constant questioning is not conducive to settling for any one religion's answers.
