Do you wear your hair up tightly a lot? I get headaches that never go away when i wear my hair in a pony tail a lot. Don't know why. You may have a bad case of migraines which the doctor would have to prescribe something that would help.

Once upon a time I had really bad migraines. I would have them every day. No prescription worked. One day when I went in to see my neurologist. As I waited in the waiting room, I was flipping through one of the magazines and came across an article on migraines. It said that a magnesium deficiency can cause identical symptoms as a migraine. I brought the magazine in to my appointment and showed it to my neurologist. Lo and behold, the article was true. So this time instead of getting more prescriptions, I started taking magnesium supplements. After a few months, I had half the number of migraine days than I did before.

A few months later, I went to the local fair. As I was browsing through the booths, I came across a booth for a local chiropracter's office that was doing free spinal scans. I remembered over the years many people suggested I go to see a chiropracter, including a physical therapist I went to for a Worker's Compensation back injury. So I decided I'd check it out. I got the scan, set my first appointment, and have been going ever since. September will be my one year anniversary. And how are my headaches? Well, I rarely get migraines now. When I do, I can actually treat it with Tylenol. That is, if I need to take anything. Sure I get stress headaches like everyone else, but they're now few and far apart. I think the past several months I've had one headache every other month at most.

The moral of the story: perhaps your diet does have something to do with it (water consumption too, by the way). Perhaps you have a subluxation in your spine that's causing the headaches. You might want to see a chiropracter too.

Good luck with the headaches! I know how bad they can be.

It could be that you are taking too many pills, believe it or not. Try not taking anything for a week- I know torture. If at the end of the week you take a pill and nothing happens, you are taking the wrong pill. It could be too much caffeine, poor nutrition, poor sleeping, poor sleeping positions, etc. Headaches can happen for many different reasons. The best thing to do is to start a diary of when you get a headache, what you are doing, what you just did, etc. You should notice a pattern after about two weeks. Good luck!

I have had nasty migraines for a long time. Steady exercise - like vigorous exercise almost every day - helps the most. Coffee often helps me if I catch it early enough - but this can be a trigger for some. Try different medications too - Imitrex is worthless on mine, but Midrin works well. There are a number of things out there the doctor can try.

Track your food and try to find triggers. I know it's not easy, because you don't know until after you have the headache, and it's hard to remember what you ate before.

Some people also find a very consistent sleep schedule helps.

I have had bad headaches and migraines since I was about 12. I'm 20 now and I still have them. I have been to doctors and specialists, had MRIs, and CAT scans but they can find anything wrong with me. So I just have to live with them I guess. Sometimes I go and get acupuncture and it usually helps - but it gets expensive. Anyway, if you haven't been to a doctor or specialist I advise to go. There might be a problem they can fix now. Good luck!

Headaches are caused by a lot of factors, just to name a few:
Bad nutrition, not enuf sleep, very stressed, need glasses or and updated prescription.
I would suggest to try and factor a few things out and maybe go to a specialist. They could be serous but they could be something that can be fixed very easily.

Headaches could be the result of a lot of things, an dpoor nutrition is certainly one of them. You could also need glasses, I would suggest you see a doc because they would even have to run some tests to determine the cause.

Good luck!

Headaches could be caused by a number of things...including stress. If you continue to have them, you might try seeking the advice of a doctor. They would be able to pinpoint what exactly is causing your headaches and take appropriate steps to solve the problem. Good luck!

see a doctor if it really won't go away. it could be sinus related or something else..... but i noticed your avatar has pony tails.... is that how you wear your hair???? it may sound silly, but i took ballet for 6 1/2 years when i was teenager-ish, i experienced the same thing, it was sooo stupid, i was pulling my hair too tight for ballet. it gave me the worst headache ever, and pills didn't help. i though i was dying, and it was some thing so dumb. try loosening your pony tails while you wait for your doctors apt. see if it helps.
