I take a gram of Vitamin C and a gram of Vitamin E after working out. I am over 40 and taking these two eliminated the pain I would get after working out.

Vitamin E and C together has some pretty good results. If you are young, there are not as dramatic. For older people over 40, you should take both. I just copied a blog entry of mine in which I talk about how Vitamin E can protect your heart.

BLOG ENTRY:
Everyone knows that eating too much fat in a meal will damage your arteries and your heart.

Here is how you can protect your most important organs when you eat too much fat- about 50 grams of fat ( based upon academic research published in NE Journal of Medicine:)

Before you eat the fatty meal, do this:
Consume 1,000 mg of Vitamin C and 800 IU of Vitamin E.

The researchers found that the arteries dilated normally for the subjects who consumed the vitamins. The subjects who did not take the vitamins had the dilation of their blood vessel decrease by 33%.So have a delicious fatty meal ( ie omelets, etc) but REMEMBER TO TAKE THE VITAMIN C AND E BEFORE IN THE PROPER DOSES.

I have heard that the benefits of ingesting any vitamin supplement is minimal.

Your best bet is to eat a balanced diet.

However, I have seen Vitamin E work wonders on scars when the gel inside the capsule is applied directly to them.

Not really but it can't hurt to take them anyway.
