Taylor Made R7 Quad 425 or Taylor Made R7 460. These both run about $399.00 but they are 2 of the best drivers on the market. The Ping G5 460 is also very good and goes for about $299.00.

It is impossible to answer your question without additional information--there are too many variables.
What is your handicap? What is your clubhead speed? Man or woman? Senior or junior? What is your budget?
The brand is actually not very important, all new brand-name drivers are very similar. Pick one that looks good to you and which you can afford. On eBay you can get last-year's models for between $100-300.
IMPORTANT: *make sure* to choose the right combination of shaft flex and loft. Too much or too little of either one will rob you of distance and accuracy.
I strongly suggest going to a "demo day" and talking to the manufacturer reps, trying several models, and listen to their feedback.
Short of that, I will offer a quick guideline:
Current "good" drive ... Flex/Loft recommendation
<180 yards ... L flex, 12+ degrees
180-225 yards ... R flex, 10.5 degrees
225-260 yards ... S flex, 9-10 degrees
260+ yards ... (yeah, right) X flex, 8-9 degrees

Great answer by Paula. Go t oa demo day or to a store and test hit a number of drivers. Talk to the Sales staff and they can measure swing speed, club length need etc and make some suggestions. Buy the one that you are most comfortable with.

There are a lot of good drivers out there the key is finding the one that works best with your swing. The club needs to look good to you, the right lie angle, loft and shaft flex are also very important. I have some good links on my blog roll that can help you find the right set. I suggest you go to as many demo days as you can Go to the company website to find out dates and times of demo days. Don't purchase a club until you it or one like it, unless you can return it

My driving improved dramatically when I got a Taylormade 580XD (9.5 deg loft). It was run-out sale as Taylormade were rolling out their R7 series. You can get them for under $500 (AUD) retail but might be harder to find now. Look on eBay for really good deals.

for $300 you can get a cobra speed driver, and unlike most drivers that are optimized for just one swing speed, Cobra makes 3 different speed models.
M/Speed- made for an average swing speed of about 75-100 mph and provides about 210-250 yards on average for that speed
F/Speed- made for an average swing speed of about 90-110 mph and provides about 220-270 yards on average for that speed
X/Speed- made for swing speeds in excess of 105 mph and usually provides about 260+ yards for that speed
