I work with children aged 3 to 5 years and every day i end up laughing at something or another that one of them has said or done. Thats why I love my job so much.
Some stick in my head more than others,
I was showing the children a globe and talking about land sea and various countries. One of the children wanted me to show him where Cuba was on the globe as this is where he had been on his holiday. I was having trouble finding it so the child said quite inocently "Maybe its on another planet" As you can imagine I found it very difficult not to laugh,
On another occasion one particular child kept saying she had a crumpet in her foot. I humoured her but was quite confused. All day she repeatedly told me about the crumpet in her foot. At the end of the day I explained to her mum what she had been saying. She was equally confused but then burst into laughter realising wot her daughter was saying. The mother went on to explain that at the weekend her father had cramp in his foot and her daughter was obviously imitating her father but thought he had said crumpet.
Its true, children really do say the funniest things.

Well, I have two by the same daughter. When my daughter was potty training, she said this just after she had pooped for the first time in the potty, "Who put a pickle in the potty?". Also, when she was about 18 months we were at a checkout line. She says this out loud for all to hear, "I just need to know if I'm pregnant. Can I take the new test?" Now, mind you, she is very observant of commercials and likes to find out exactly what they are about. Everyone around was so quiet. The lady in front of us was trying her best to sneak a peek at who said it, but nearly fell over when she saw who it was. I calmly said, "Now, honey, you have to be married before you have kids so I don't think you are pregnant." Snickers heard all around.

When my daughter was 3, she was singing the "This old man.." song and I started to sing with her. She stopped and looked at me and said, real surprised, "Mommy, how do you know that song?", and I replied "I used to sing that song when I was a little girl, a loooong time ago." (I was 23 at the time, 30 now) She thought about that for a minute then said "Ooooohh, you mean when you were a pilgrim?!" I just died laughing.

We used to keep a rolled up towel in front of the door in our old appartment to block the draft in the winter. My then my 6 year old son started to pull it away. I said put that back it blocks the draft from getting in. He looked back at me and said, A giraffe, A real giraffe.

My small child asked me how to spell "orgasm" in front of two little old ladies. It was embarrassing, but absolutely hysterical. I have no clue where she heard that word before. I thought maybe she'd seen it on one of the books in the aisle at the store...
