I would think they use the bathroom of the gender that they are closer to ( or identify more with)

Well there is a difference between hermaphrodite and a transgender. Most hermaphrodites get slapped with a gender label at birth on their birth certificate so they end up using the restroom of the gender indicated on their certificate.
Having known and/or worked with approx 10 transgender people my answer is they all use the women's restroom. Most definitely all biologically born guys that live as females will use the women's restroom. But for reasons I do not know all female born persons that live and dress as men that I have known also go to the women's restroom.

There is a big difference between a drag queen peeing in the men's or women's room... most use the womens because in a gay club its mostly men..and they don't have to wait as long... But a transgender..Male to female would use the women's room... They live as a women and therefore would go about there day like any other women... Even if they have not had there reassignment surgery!

I've seen unisex bathrooms and family bathrooms. But if I was transgender, I'd use the bathroom depending on which I looked like more so I wouldn't freak people out.

All bathrooms have at least one stall here in the States, so I'd go with whatever the person happens to be dressed as that day. All the 'bits' don't have to be exposed to the public, eh?

Iwould have to say use the one for however you are dressed that day. If neither rooms are comfortable enough for you to go in then sometimes there are family restrooms which mean anyone can go in. I hope this helps.

I think if they are dressed as a woman they should use the ladies room. We have doors in there so it isn't a big deal for them to come in but I think it would be hard for them to lift up their skirt and use the urinal.

if you look more like a female, the women's bathroom. if you look more like a male, the men's bathroom. no offense taken.
