I would make up my own Chicken parm, with a side dish of spaghetti. And a veg,& a salad. And a nice red wine. Or make up my own style of chicken steak stir fry, with some side dish. And of course a wine of some nature. Maybe white wine.

LOL at Lasagna on the first answer.
My favorite food for a romantic dinner is lobster tail on a bed of penne with garlic sauce. A vegetable medley, rolls (or your favorite bread), and a good white wine.
Any type of cake for desert - especially if it's warm. Eat your desert with a SMALL glass of desert wine.
Mmm- romance. Make sure to have 1 or 3 candles. Never even number and never more than 3.
use nice dishes (China preferably) and real cloth napkins.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops or Shrimp served over Angel Hair with a white wine Scampi sauce, tossed with broccoli. Caprese salad: Fresh tomatos with fresh basil and fresh mozzarella cheese drizzled in olive oil. Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon Wine with dinner. For dessert, chocolate mousse served in a martini glass.

Seafood. Perhaps shrimp or lobster, a light salad and a good wine. Or chicken, but in a dressed up dish. I say this because it's a romantic dinner and hopefully my date & I would get romatic with each other a little later - and you don't want anything heavy on your stomach!

I don't think eating is very romantic. Defenitely something that requires very little work. Spaghetti, steak, veil cutlets, are all out. Too much work to eat.
Pick something soft that can be cut easily with a single utensil and won;t drip.

Something light and quick; a cold melon soup, oysters or clams on the half shell, fillet Mignon with sauteed mushrooms on top of a crispy potato pancake; champagne and strawberries with whipped cream for dessert...

Lobster (I think it's sensuous picking it apart and sucking the juice from the shell)
maybe a nice, light crispy salad
rice pilaf
either sparkling water (if alcoholic) or champagne (if not)
chocolate mousse with whipped cream for dessert....
mmmmmm.... I'm in the mood!
