What did the vet tell you to do? If the vet did not give you a satisfactory answer than take your kitten to a different vet for a 2nd opinion.

did the vet do an xray? i had a 4-5 month old male kitten given to me because the previous owners child kicked him and he had a terrible limp and would groan and whimper when picked up. i took him to a vet and they fixed him and said that he probably had an infection and to give him an antibiotic and we would see if the limp went away. Now, i've worked in the medical field for over 20 years and i know that if someone has pain and a bad limp the least they will do is an xray! i insisted to the vet that he do an xray as i thought he atleast has a broken leg or something. the vet finally relented and did the xray. Poor little guy didn't have a broken leg but he did have a broken pelvis!!!!! i was told he needed to be kept quiet and still even if i had to keep him in a carrier for weeks until the bone mended. he actually laid on my bed above my pillow for 6 weeks and i would pick him up and gently hold him in the litter box and i would bring him his food. he did heal and will always have a wobble rear gate when he walks, he's kindof pigeon toed at his back feet. he does have trouble getting down from higher places, but uses his claws to drag himself up. see if maybe your kitty has a break somewhere by either going back to the same vet and insisting or finding another vet for a 2nd opinion. You have all the right here as this is your kitten and it would not be a problem for a vet to do an xray. kittens are still fairly delicate and could quite easily have been caught in a closing door or landed funny. cats are not as graceful
as people seem to think and can hurt themselves. my kitty didn't have any hip surgery to pin the bone and he is as fine as he can be now and we worked out a little code and i could tell when he wanted to go to the litter box by his little meow. good luck.

could be cystitis. or a blocked tube from her bladder. I'd get a second opinion as you shouldn't be forced to ask advice from random people if they were doing their job properly. Take note of toilet habits (is she struggling?) and if she appears unwell in anything else (for example I always know when mine are ill before symptoms because they loose the gloss on their coats and become extra affectionate). Crying in the night, sleeping more of less often, less bright in the eyes, prolonged absences are all good indicators that something is up. And the more info you can give the better - and don't let them fob you off, you know her better than they do.
Good Luck, hope she's ok.

There is more than one vet in a general area, for a reason.... 2nd opinions! Take your kitten to a different vet, there may be something wrong with her organs, that is causing pain when held and is causing her to walk oddly to prevent pain.

How are you picking her up? Are you giving her plenty of GENTLE support for her body? Is it possible that she is being mishandled by someone in the household? It could be any number of things, from injuries to bladder infection. Try not picking her up for a few days and see if she's better after that. If not, then take her back to the vet. It could be something quite serious.

Call the vet back. If she is still doing this there is obviously something wrong.

Are you holding her too tight?

What did the Vet say when you took her???

Sounds like it could be a bladder infection to me.

I agree that you need another vet. Something is very clearly wrong with your cat.

Is there swelling in the hollow before her hips?
