i was raised a catholic and really freaked out my kids (who are not brainwashed into a religion) one day by bursting into this song from my childhood: "Sons of God, Hear His holy Word, Gather round the table of the Lord, Eat His Body, Drink His Blood, and We'll sing a song of love, allelu...." My kids love this song, they just change it to 'now we sing a song of cannibalism...'
it is really weird and freaky if you think about it.

It's in the lyrics of a popular Christian song from the mid-twentieth century, so the phrase stuck in our subculture. The Bible treats the name of Jesus with respect and awe as it does with the name of God in general.
We describe plenty of things as "sweet" without the intention of eating them, now don't we?

when you tell someone you love "you are so sweet..." or "it is so sweet of you to.......".Are you thinking of eating them ?! I don't think so .
Do you know that JESUS CHRIST came to this world to give himself as a living sacrifice in order to give us life that who so ever believes in HIM shall not perish but have an eternal life.
i think that is the sweetest thing that anyone could have ever done for me ."i bet no human being ever did that for you".
