If i tell you I have a dragon in my garden that flies, and I can't provide evidence, you'd call me mad.

If I tell you there's an omnipotent being in the sky that oversee's everything we do, and don't provide evidence, a lot of people would agree and believe me.

So on that basis, how come the more believable of the two is the less believable option? One a mere lizard with wings, the other an omnipotent being. Neither of which having any material to substantiate them?

The reason I believe in a higher power is that I see evidence around me every day that something caused all of what I see. If you had a dragon in your yard, it would leave some kind of evidence. :)

i think that dinosaurs lived in this international, because of the fact the fossil checklist needless to say exhibits. Now, are dragons somewhat that distinctive from dinosaurs? in case you have been being chased with the aid of some extensive dinosaur could you possibly describe it some thing like a dragon? As i think the two the bible and what i see around me, the international extensive flood replace into an actuality, meaning noah had dinosaurs on the ark, whick potential dinosaurs have been around after the flood, and who knows of for the way long after! (and, for all the evolutionists obtainable, fossilised footprints of dinosaur and guy have been got here across jointly, which form of disproves various evolutionary theories) i'm a seventh Day Adventist with the aid of the way

Your argument is flawed.
My parents love me. I've known it my entire life. Now it is impossible for me sitting here to prove to you that it is true. I could submit photos, writings and personal antecdotes as evidence but what is that? In the end I could exhaust every means of persuasion but still have no concrete evidence to give you to prove beyond a doubt that my parents love me.

How is that different from God? He made us, cares for us. He provides us with all that we need to live. He gave us a story, written down so that we might remeber how he loved those that came before us. He left us signs in all the wonder that is creation. But in the end I can not tell you how much God loves me. I just know it. In the same way that I know my parents love me.

Now you tell me science is the only truth. I tell you God is in the details. Einstein, Pascal, Newton, Plank. Arguably the greatest minds ever to live. They stared deep into the mysteries of the universe and saw God at work. Einstien himself once commented that the more one understands the complexities of the universe, the more one comes to realize that it must be the work of a supreme being.

If from birth, you were told that a dragon existed in your garden and their were churches, temples, mosques, etc to go and worship the dragon, but no-one ever spoke of God, then you would believe more in the dragon.

I've heard this argument before in many different forms... unfortunately it doesn't persuade people. The main reason it fails is because it depends on sound logic... something believers shun completely in order to live in their fantasy world were they can be truly happy because god is always helping them. It's a crutch... some people really need to believe in something higher to justify their pathetic existence. I'm quite fine with my pathetic existence without adding a silly god into the mix.

It's the way people believe
i wouldn't believe either thing
well, i really accually don't care about the being over us
I think, well if you can't prove yourself, theres no reason why i should waste 5 hours of my Sunday worshipping some one's figure of imagination

If your dragon said that it would torture without mercy and for all eternity anyone who didn't believe in it, then it might get few more takers. Look at what that tactic did for the numbers for Christianity and Islam.

There is evidence of God in everything we do. He loves you too. I also have a dragon. She lives next to my smart ***.

have you read the bible? Or been to church, haven't anything happened to you, that just cannot be a coincidence, that you've really felt, that God spoke to you, or gave you a hint or just gave you a hug, or showed he's besides you? If you believe, you'll have plenty of these kinds of experiences, and then you'll be sure that God exists!

Well, if your dragon has been worshiped by thousands of generations of people, has had his son's existance verified by countless historian and eye-witness accounts, along with reports of miracles, if thousands of people have died for believing in him then, maybe I'll show enough FAITH to believe YOU.
