It sounds like your kitten has a bit of an upper respiritory infection.. Its quite common in kittens, not overly serious but it needs to be treated. Most likely they will give you Clavamox drops and tell you to come in for a recheck in about a week. Just make sure you have her treated before it develops into something that requires harsher treatment. Best of luck to you, and your baby.
(I don't understand how any pet owners can go on this site and tell people to wait out sicknesses... A simple infection like the one the asker is describing can lead to pnemonia and death.. and for the record, Dogs get Kennel Cough and cats get upper resperitory infections... If anyone's animal is not acting normal and is showing any kind of symptoms they need to be seen... And all vets will tell you the same thing, because something minor can easily turn into something major with out the proper care.)

I bought a seven week old kitten from a shelter and he initially started sneezing. This last maybe a week and a half. There wasn't really much discharge though. My vet told me if she is eating and playing fine, then there was nothing to worry about. I'd ask your vet, though.

Some animals in shelters get what is referred to as kennel cough. It usually clears up on its own after a week or two, but if you are concerned, by all means call the vet.

My cat has the same thing. He weezes and has a bit of a mucus problem to. He's 4 and it has not gone away, but when he gets really bad, I take him to the vet and give him his shots. In a couple of days he feels better, so yours should too. Just give her a few days for it to stop, and if it gets too bad, go to the vet again.

If any animal is seezing or having a runny nose, they need a vet. Kittens at that age are able to catch a flu like bug, it's sort of a special strain for that age. That's what my vet told me.

Before you take her to the vet, call up and ask them if they think they need to see her. Most of the vets I know will give you an honest answer to that question.

I think that it might be like a cat cold so just let her play and eat as normal you may want to see a vet if the problem last over a week.
good luck

She most likely has a kitty cold, but she needs to be looked at by a vet to rule out any respiratory infection.

it could just be a cold, but if she has cat flu it can be very dangerous. take her for a check up just in case, she could have easily caught something from the shelter. if she's playing and eating ok, she's probably ok so don't worry too much but get her checked out to be safe

Sounds like she has cat flu, not an emergency, but I would take her to the vet as it can affect them badly when they are young, also she shouldn't have her second shots if she's not well.
