I currently work as a manager in the private health club industry. I believe the only way I am likely to get work in Australia is to get a company to sponsor me - what's the best way to go about this? Any other suggestions out there?

Do you have formal qualifications such as a Degree / HND? Do you have any family residing in Australia? If both of these apply then you may be able to go to Australia without employer sponsorship. If they do not apply then you will need employer sponsorship. The best way to secure employer sponsorship is to set up some interviews, go to Australia on a "Business ETA" (www.eta.immi.gov.au) and see what eventuates.

I imagine that it will be quite difficult to secure a job as every second Australian wants to work in the health industry - you won't know unless you try though.

The only other avenue is to go to Australia on a student visa. You will need to study full-time and you will only be able to work 20 hours per week.

Try investigating working for a company that is Australia based and has locations where you live. Much easier to get a sponsor for a transfer (then your work ethic is known by the employer).

You've got to either have a trade, like being a mechanic, a carpenter, or a plumber, or get a company to sponsor you.

If not, you're SOL dude.

The best way to work there is to be born there. I believe they have a 6 month limit on foreigners being there.

Get some thwart cream, apply liberally to the affected area. :)

Seriously..... go there ......find a place who wants to employ you and get them to sponsor you ......and they will, if you have the ability to do the job they want you to do.
