And how much do you suggest I take with me when I go over there?

Everyone's done the exact calculations, but just think of it this way, $1 equals roughly 1000 won (Korean demonimation of money). So if something says it costs 10,000 won, don't freak out, take out the extra three 0's. In reality, it costs 10 U.S. dollars.

Clothing, accessories, food are definitely cheaper in Korea. However, gas prices are higher than in the U.S. It definitely depends on how long you will be there. And whether you will be staying in a hotel or doing a homestay.

Figure about 5000-10,000 won ($5-10) per meal, there are a lot of cheap places under 5000 won. There's a lot of places to spend your money, such as the shopping areas... It's easy to spend away a couple hundred just on cheap shopping, don't get carried away on the first day or so!

Hope that helps!
