Not that I want to sound even weirder on here, after asking many questions that have freaked people out but I will add another... I often get images of myself (sometimes nightmares) of my being beaten up, or bleeding heavily, or stabbing myself... Random images or in the nightmares clips of me being harmed by my own doing... Anyone get this? Or have a clue why I may get this?

Please don't ask if I am insane... It is always a possibility

This sounds like me a year back. Do you see these images during the day -- and do they look real, to where you feel like you could reach out and touch them (not that you'd want to)? They are hallucinations, nothing more than your brain effectively messing up. Do you hear voices as well? Command voices in particular, saying things like "Trip down the stairs" and "Kill yourself now?"

If yes to one or both of these, you should go to the psychiatrist and tell him/her what is going on. Be honest. They can prescribe anti-psychotic medications that will get rid of these symptoms.

You are not crazy. Most likely you are severely depressed with psychotic symptoms. The anti-psychotic that worked for me was Geodon, but I also tried Resperdal... everyone is different.

If you ever feel like carrying out what you see in these images, talk to someone. Call up a friend or a hotline, or seek out someone you trust.

I once had a friend that thought they were seeing images like that...it turned out that they were seeing images of things going on thru the eyes of the person being attacked. It may not be happening to you, it might you seeing thru their eyes.

These types of dreams are normal. They usually mean that you have a fear that you are hurting yourself, not necessarily physically wither. It could be emotionally. Do you have a friend or partner whose mean or hurts you, do you smoke or do drugs, bulimia or anorexia, or anything like that where you're causing yourself some kind of harm. It's your subconscious way of trying to point it out. Sometimes our subconscious needs to be more specific.

I do not think that you are insane. You might have OCD. My sister has it, and that is one of the symptoms.
