the best for me is the japanese hair straightening method that leaves it permanently straight. just go bak for the root retouch once or twice a year. if not, just try a chemical straightening at salon or blowout which is temporary until you wash it out. or home remedy is taking a flat iron and straighten it at home.

Please do not use a straightening iron if your hair is dry. This will totally ruin your hair after a month. What I would recommend is to first condition your hair with an intense conditioning treatment such as K-Pak's deep conditioner (use this only once a month at the max because overuse will make it drier). Then on a daily basis, I would use the Sleek Look line. To dry your hair, use a large circular brush and brush under each section as you dry it. Make sure your hair is completely dry or your hair will just curl after an hour or so.

There's an old expression "The grass is greener on the other side of the fence." It's kind of like the old idea that "blonds have more fun". Mostly, it just like anything else with our looks. We're never satisfied with how we are naturally. We hate the color or curl/lack of curl. We wish we were shorter/taller, curvier/thinner or had different color eyes, We look out at those around us and develop an opinion of what is beautiful by what we, ourselves, find attractive. To use your example: If you look around and decide that most of the people that you find attractive have straight hair, you consciously or unconsciously believe that's what everyone else will also find attractive. Of course you want to be attractive, so you want straight hair. We try to do what we can to transform ourselves into the idea of beauty we have chosen. Media pressure has the most tremendous input in our decisions of beauty in our culture.

I'd suggest you go with what God gave you. Curls are on their way back, BTW. IF your hair is already dry, using a flat-iron will only damage your hair further. Ten you'll have broken, dry curly hair.
Find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair and let them create a style to suit your face and yoru needs. And embrace those curls!

You could blow it dry straight, then use a CHI straightener (by far, the best straightener out there! so worth the $$$). Or you could go to a salon and have them do it with chemicals. It's like a reverse perm.

Wavy hair is the hardest because it won't straighten & doesn't curl. Don't blowdry to straighten. Put leave in conditoner in your hair & use large rollers. They are gentler on your hair & will create volume.

You can purchase a straightener. You can get them fairly cheap at target. That will definitely get your hair straight and it will last until the next time you wash it.
