If it is a small area and doesn't spread Calamine lotion will usually do the trick. the idea is to take out the moisture in the skin and allow the ivy spores to die on their own. If you are allergic to it, like me, and it spreads everywhere then I recommend going to the doctor. They will give you either a cortisone shot or cortisone pills which are really effective plus they stop the itch. An old home remedy is to take a sock and fill it with oatmeal, run a hot bath and soak in the tub with the oatmeal sock. It sounds cooky but the oatmeal dries the skin out and soothes the itch.

If you just get it and the rash is new, try applying some diluted Clorox (mixed with water). Leave it on the affected area for a couple of minutes and wash it off. Apparently, it removes the oils that create the skin reaction. Otherwise, see a doctor and hope he gives you a cortisone shot... that will take care of it right away!

personally, i pierce the rash with a needle and rub it with a q-tip dipped in bleach. it burns for a second, but it stops the itch and heals quickly.
oh yeah, if you can find it, jewel weed is the natural remedy. just rub the plant on the rash.

Calamine lotion, but it's messy. Check with your doctor to see if there's anything that works faster or is less messy.

Put rubbing alcohol on it. It'll burn, but it won't itch anymore.
