Was just there this weekend. First there are no shops in central park. They are all on the outside of the park in the city streets.

Entering on 5th ave the Central Park Zoo is off of 5th ave, you want to make sure you head down to the lake area where you can rent out a boat. There is a restaurant at the lake and you can walk over to Tavern on the Green as well.

2 miles is easy to do, just follow the streets/paths and you'll do 2 miles pretty quickly.

there are no official "singles" places in the park. Enjoy your day and hit the clubs at night if you are looking for singles.

you are trying to do two completely different things at the same time. shopping and chilling. shame shame. forget the shopping and get lost in the park. then when your exhausted take the train downtown to shop and eat.
