I'm getting my teeth bleached at the dentist very soon, it will be in-office bleaching, when I was young I never brushed them and this caused them to become nasty looking, but finally ths will be gone. And I heard that tea, soda, and other drinks stain your teeth, what drinks can I drink that dont stain teeth, and can I drink soda that is clear, like sprite?

I had a friend get his teeth brushed. He still drank three to four cups of coffee per day after. But he looked a little weird doing that.

He drank with a straw so the dark beverages would bypass his nice white teeth. It worked for him.

Other than that, talk to your dentist.

Regardless of bleaching watch out for sugary drinks. But if you must like going out to eat use a straw. Tea stains more than coffee even. Clear soda's with sugar are actually even harder on your teeth than dark. The safest drink you can drink is diet root beer.

I am posting a link for you to see what happens when you drink soft drinks. Did you know that moutain dew is the worse thing anyone in the world can drink for their teeth? This stuff not only rots the teeth but does not brush off. Imagine what it does to your kidneys. Like drinking anti-freeze for your body and teeth.

Any dark colored drink will stain your teeth...cola, tea, coffee, red wine...those are the big ones. Right after the bleaching you shouldn't drink any of these. Stick w/ water, apple juice, and other clear beverages. Bleaching makes your teeth more porous for a short time, but once they have "healed" you can go back to dark beverages, but brush shortly after consuming these if you don't want any new staining.
PS...don't forget food...spaghetti sauce and berries are staining to the teeth also.

Colored drinks can stain the teeth but usually that happens only if that is all you drink. You might want to stay away from citrus foods and drinks at least 2 weeks after your bleaching. If you must drink soda, I usually tell my patients to use a straw.

Yes, avoid anything with dark pigments in it (like coffee or red wine). Stick to water or other liquids that aren't full of artificial dyes. I'm positive your dentist can give you the full run down, it's his job!

He will prob recommend you drink through a straw if you must drink something dark - although this puckering action might cause lines to form around the mouth. So pick your fate - yellow teeth or fine lines!

Ask your dentist for sure, but I think that you should have water and Milk. No coffee, probably no sodas, and don't put anything like a crystal light pack in your water.
