My mom arrived from Germany with her parents as a child and we are not sure if she lost her German citizenship because we don't know if her parents actively applied for her or if she automatically became a citizen of the US because her parents did. I would love to be able to obtain dual citizenship though my mom if we can determine she stil has her German citizenship. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Since you obviously have internet access, it would be easier to go to www.uscis.gov and download the application. Does your mother already have a greencard? If not, she needs to apply for that first, and then she can apply for citizenship. She'll need her German birth certificate as well. How old are you? If you're under 18 and unmarried, you should automatically derive citizenship when your mom gets naturalized. All you will need to do is go to the passport office and show them your mom's naturalization certificate and you'll get a U.S. passport. Or you can get your own certificate by filing an N-600.
The United States doesn't really recognize dual citizenship. Part of the Oath of Allegiance includes renouncing allegiance to your prior country of Nationality.

If your mother was a child (under 18) when her parents became naturalized, she automatically acquired it as well. You can also call the immigration hotline at: 1800-375-5283, ask your questions, give them the necessary information, and they will be able to tell you if she is indeed a us citizen or not.
