Funny how christians will say jesus was destined to die on the cross, but then everyone has free will. You can't have it both ways. Either Judas was destined to betray Jesus, or he did it because he wanted to for money or whatever. The third option being that Jesus told Judas to turn him in. Which is suicide as far as I can see.

This is the major contradiction you see in religion. They claim all the time that everyone has free will and it's your fault if you sin, but at the same time they say that god created everyone and he is omnipotent. If he is omnipotent and knows everything then there is no free will.

Judas thought that by turning Jesus in he would help speed up the process of Jesus taking over
the Roman government, and thus delivering the Jews for bondage. What he was doing was being carnal minded not spiritual minded because later Jesus told the soldiers that if my
kingdom were of this world then would my disciples fight. Most all of his disciples thought the same way, that the kingdom would be set up and deliverance would happen then, but Judas
like to get recognition and yes his free will of
helping Jesus out was why after he saw what he had done, went out and hung himself.Jesus did what he did for the ones that believed in him,he allowed the Jews to hang him on a tree, but he gave up the Ghost, knowing that he had believers waiting for him in the lower parts of the earth and also he had to preach to the ones that had never heard the gospel so that no one was without excuse

Everyone has free will. Even Judas. Judas chose to take the money and turn Jesus in. God knew that Judas was going to do it so He told Jesus from the beginning that he was going to die on a cross to save the world from it's sins.

Having said the above, here is something else for you to ponder...Had Judas asked for forgiveness before he hung himself he would have gone to heaven instead of hell.

God gives everyone free will. Judas did too. However, God knew from the beginning of time that Judas would turn Jesus in. Even if Judas resisted the tempations of the devil, Jesus destiny still would have been met on the cross.

Yes, he had free will. Jesus knew what Judas would do before he did it. He told him so. Just because Jesus knew, because of His omnipotence, doesn't mean that Judas didn't have free will. Jesus' foreknowledge is like us looking back in time. We know what we did, but that doesn't mean that we didn't have free will when we did it. Because God is omnipotent, it's like He's looking back in time even in the present. Just because it was know to God would Judas would do, doesn't mean Judas didn't do it on his on. God is the beneficiary of omnipotence and we're not.

I hope I said this well enough for it to make at least some sense.

Judas, like everyone else, absolutely had free will. Presumably the same end would have come about, one way or another, if Judas had decided not to turn Jesus in, but we don't know.

I wonder more what would have happened if Adam and Eve hadn't succumbed to the temptation in Eden that got them kicked out of paradise.

Yes he did. Jesus even said at the last supper that one of you will protray me. Judas knew who Jesus was talking, but still he did anyways. Well I cant think that way cause prophcey was fulfilled when Judas protrayed Jesus. So the events happened the way it was suppose to.

How much is the 30 pieces of silver in today's money. Otherwise it's difficult to tell whether Judas got a good deal or not.

Judas notably "also betrayed him", denoting others did too; Peter denied him thrice, and twice, both outside & inside the gates of the palace of the "high" priest notably against the "high" priest Jesus, which is a division-all sides war on "high" in "heavens", Law Law heavens rather than grace us heaven above: "higher than the heavens".

Not to mention the Son of man is vengeful, plans vengeance for them all, both them vs them, having warfare in heavens on high; to the left & right of a divided God on high in the heavens. Not to mention Jesus is a "high" priest of such divided God on "high", and we are told: mind not "high" things: Rom 12:16, which would include both Jesus and the dividead God he's standing right of, standing denoting the matter is not settled, but ongoing division, endless warfare, and not peace. Christ is notably seated right, denoting the matter is forever settled in Christ: the end of the law.

As for free will, there is free will in "willing ignorance", the ignorance that notably brought an overflow of polluted grace + law (life + death) upon the entrie first world, whereby all perished; even Noah later on notably DIED and received NOT the promise. And because old Noah notably did both: all God commanded and all the LORD commanded, which were as contrary as 2 and 7, as contrary as keep seed alive and sacrifice(slaughter) it. Selah.

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
