Well WELCOME TO NOVA SCOTIA, i live in nova scotia was born here, wounderful place:) Try going to the Annapolis Valley Area, it is breath taking at the end of september, fall is coming and the colors are amazing, the eastern shore also has alot to offer. There is so much to choose from, we have woundeful resturants, if you are comming to the Halifax Area and are going to be in the city try one of the resturants on the waterfront, they offer good food, its hard to say what to pack for clothing, becvause weather in nova scotia changes in seconds, try bringing A light sweater or a windbreaker, the nights can get a little chilly at the end of september, for the most part you could bring Capris and a few pair of shorts incase the hot summer temperatures continue, bring something dressy incase you plan on going out. I have put a link on the bottom, it is the nova scotia website with everything you need i hope what i put helps, and this website will help for sure.

We were traveling the maritimes last year and it truly is beautiful. If you are traveling to Nova Scotia, make sure you go visit Peggy's Cove. It's magnificent. We stayed till the sunset, and it was breathtaking. Try and stay in that area if possible, then you can go back again in the morning, believe me, it's worht it.
Also, don't miss Cape Breton. This small island is truly wonderful. The landscape, the sea, the Cabbot Trail .. and of course the people. You may want to do some whale watching while you are there. Although we were not so lucky at Chetticamp area with the whale watching, maybe try in the Northern part of Cape Breton, Sydney perhaps.
There's also this famous town Baddeck in Cape Breton which also is quite pretty.
Have you thought of visiting Prince Edward Island while you are there? I strongly suggest that you do.
Hope this helps. Bon voyage!!

Get to Baddeck, Mabou, Ingonish and other great places in the Cape Breton Highlands and take in some live music. The leaves will be just righy at the end of September there, but be prepared for frosty evenings. Remember that you can take the ferry from Nova Scotia to PEI, and then take the bridge to New Brunswick without having to double back.

My wife and I went there last September. We really like Halifax, not sure that it's the best for a camper van but still a great place. Also, we really liked the town and the Fortress at Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island.
